It is two days before the election. We have watched in disbelief as a guy who turned out to have the personality many of us thought he had all along rose into being the top contender for the Republican ticket. While I can point out the many faults of this individual, I can just as easily point out the many faults of the electorate. That said, I can also point out that for the primary reasons Trump supporters are indeed Trump supporters, those same reasons are why they can not be swayed into voting for Clinton.
Clinton, on the other hand, is not perfect. There are issues that are a bit of a reach, such as the whole Benghazi issue. Then there are obviously serious problems, such as the entire email debacle. Whereas Trump’s personality and all the issues inherent to it have been “the gift that keeps on giving” for Clinton, the email server has been the same for Trump. Decidedly insecure, improperly configured, and above all, failing to provide the confidentiality that is necessary for such communications. Had it been that simple, if that was all there was to the story, it would have eventually died a quiet death.
But there is obviously more to it.
The dissemination of these messages, the revealed content of these messages, everything that has been released gives the voters as much a glimpse into her psyche as the tape of trump on the bus. Sure these are two wildly different revelations, but they have a similar effect. While it can be said that I would not anticipate Trump being an expert of information security, the execution of this server was flawed from any perspective.
What was once a gigantic landslide in polls has evolved into a narrow margin for Hillary. Since there is no giving tree for Hillary, Trump has been able to make gains in many states, and while statistically still unlikely to win, he has tripled his chances from 12.6% to 35.5% according to FiveThirtyEight. This election was hers to lose, and while it is unlikely that she will lose at this moment in time, such a huge lead has been lost because of a shoddily ran server and a guy who can’t stop sending women (in this case, a teenager) pictures of his junk.
This is the state of politics. Grabbing pussy and dick pics are the basis of voter decisions.
